Configurator Menus
The File menu is used to save your configuration so that
you can easily configure more drives later. You can also open files that you
saved another time. The Open As command allows you to open a file that was
saved using a drive model that is being superceded by a new drive model. This
table shows the old drive models
and their corresponding replacements
The Print command allows you to printout your set up. The Exit command is
one way to exit the ST Configurator software. You can also quit by
clicking the red "X" in the upper right corner of the main screen.

The Drive menu provides eleven features:
Self Test rotates the motor one half revolution in alternating directions at a slow speed so that you can verify that the motor is connected and functioning correctly.
Status Monitor opens a window providing you with status information such as the state of the inputs and outputs, alarms and drive status bits. Output pins can be set open or closed from the Status Monitor.
The SCL Terminal allows you to type in SCL commands and see the drive's response. For SCL applications, this is a good way to learn the commands before you start writing your host control software.
You can display a history of the last eight alarms and/or faults by choosing Alarm History. This is useful if you are having trouble with the drive in your application and want to know why. If the drive is displaying an alarm or fault condition and you wish to clear it, choose Clear Alarm.
Restore Factory Defaults resets the drive to its original factory configuration, just in case things get out of hand and you want to start over.
Quick Decel Rate sets the rate of decleration used during special situations such as when the drive encounters an end of travel limit signal.
Various other options are available only on Ethernet-enabled drives.
Ping Drive will verify your network configuration and ensure that the software can communicate with the drive.
The Drive Discovery utility allows the software to locate and identify a drive whose IP address is not known. This is most commonly used when the DHCP option (switch position "F") is chosen.
Select Edit IP Address Table if you wish to change the 14 user-defined rotary switch IP addresses (switch positions 1 - "E").
The STAC5 drive is capable of storing complete drive configurations as well as IP addresses for each rotary switch position. Select 16 Configurations Selected by Rotary Switch to edit these settings.

The Tools menu allows access to Q Programmer or the Firmware Downloader.

The Help menu is the place to go if you need to know how to contact Applied Motion, want to visit our website, or need access to the help screens.
